For the past few years, Anne-Mari Kivimäki has been tracing back the footsteps and homesteads of Karelian storyteller and accordion player Ilja Kotikallio. Nightbird a.k.a Anna-Stina Jungerstam plays music for sleepless nights. She describes her music as roots blues soaked in mud. Nightbird has been touring both Finland and abroad the past two years, impressing people with her folk noir touch. She stands in the crossroads of American folk tradition and more experimental Finnish "forest folk". It's a pleasure to have her play at Säv/San this year!
